Machinist Apprenticeship Program

Take PART IN THE RMTMA APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM


RMTMA’s Machinist Apprenticeship has officially been accepted and approved by the US Department of Labor. This program is designed to help members fill the critical gap of employees leaning into manufacturing careers.

RMTMA is currently looking for apprentices and shops/employers who would like to hire and start an apprenticeship at their shop.

Below are key points of our program

On-the-Job Learning Program

This program combines on-the-job training and college classes.

Academic Partner

Community College of Denver (CCD) is our academic partner to aid with the classroom training. There is flexibility to partner with any other trade school / community college that offers a similar machining curriculum as CCD.

Program Length

Approximate program length for apprentices will be about 2 years.

Apprentice Age Requirement

This apprenticeship is for ages 18+

Costs & Funding Opportunities

There are multiple funding sources available to assist shops with training. Apprentice programs currently have very strong support at the national and local level and funding has been allocated at a historic amount.

Accreditation

This is a national registered and accredited apprentice program.

Company Requirements

Companies who wish to participate in this program must be active members of RMTMA. The Apprenticeship Committee will secure placements at active RMTMA shops who are looking for apprentices.
