Job Title: CNC Programmer
Job Description: This position creates difficult to very complex CNC Programs and setups for the CNC machine shop area according to the needs of the master production schedule. This is a full-time, 1st shift position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Interfaces with Design Engineers and project managers to maintain current and best programming/machining practices • Updates, revises and produces programs, tool lists and job set-up sheets for machine shop.
Works closely with machine operators, fabrication personnel, project managers and other machine programmers to ensure that programs are made to run as smooth and efficiently as possible.
Reads and interprets intermediate to complex drawing and blueprint packages.
Independently evaluates requirements for complex jobs and generates CNC programs and cut lists for complex jobs for all Processing machines.
Independently processes complete, complex job packages through planning and programming, while also demonstrating efficient use of labor and materials.
Creates and edits ERP Structures and Routings.
Utilizes Mastercam, CAD and other software to edit, draw, and design complex parts for programming.
Provides post processes support
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Degree or certification from college or technical school in the field of computer-aided design and drafting preferred • At least 5 years' programming experience for CNC machines • Must fully understand the process of machining. Programs written must make parts to print in a timely manner.
Prior work history or knowledge of machining programming and “g-code” is crucial to understanding how to program.
Ability to “hand program” on the machine itself to help operators.
Must be familiar with FANUC base machines, Haas controls and Heidenhain control programming.
SKILLS and ABILITIES:
The ability to generate, read, and interpret drawings. One must have the fundamental knowledge and skills associated with machining. General knowledge of fabrication processes and welding is desired. One must possess strong computer knowledge and be familiar with standard desktop software including GlobalShop ERP, AutoCad, and be extremely proficient in MasterCam 2026. One must be able to create drawings using blueprints to program from, create programs using IGES files and solid models, and know how to select the proper cutting tools for the part and/or material to be cut.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to organize work and communicate effectively with coworkers. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to answer questions effectively before small groups of customers or departmental meetings.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to read blueprints and understand dimensional tolerances. Ability to convert decimals to fractions and fractions to decimals. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to perform general algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

Agile Space Industries is seeking a Senior Machinist to support the production of rocket engines at our manufacturing center in beautiful Durango, Colorado. In this role, you will work with our Manufacturing Director to maintain the facilities support the machining, assembly, and delivery of high-quality rocket hardware for in-space propulsion and R&D applications.
Responsibilities:
Operate lathes, mills, and surface grinders
Perform inspections using metrology equipment
Provide feedback on engineering drawings to improve machinability
Maintain equipment
Assemble hardware as needed
Follows all safety guidelines established by the Company, including proper use of safety equipment and relevant safety procedures
Meets job standard times with minimal supervision
Basic Troubleshooting skills and must be able to recognize production problems such as out-of-tolerance Machining, poor finishes, damaged or worn cutters, and tooling
Working both independently and collaboratively within a team of individual contributors to enable every member to succeed in their respective tasks
Support quality and compliance by adhering to all procedures, work instructions, and forms per the Quality Management Systems (QMS).
Lead, train, or mentor others by providing regular technical direction and oversight on machine tools, controllers and manufacturing processes.

Required Qualifications:
5+ years of machining experience
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Able to self-direct work
Computer skills such as MS Outlook, Word, Excel, etc
